Les Robes Géographiques
Elisabeth Lecourt was born in Oloron Saint Marie, France in 1972 then moved to London to gain her MA at The Royal College of Art.

Les Robes Géographiques started as a series of studies and sketches in 2002, as a cartographer depicts maps to understand the world we live in. Elisabeth forces the maps to take the shapes of clothing, representing the wearer's habitat and identity, forming an intimate connection with the wearer.

Within Les Robes Géographiques, Elisabeth uses maps forming clothes and garments as a rubbing of the body and the soul. It is a continuation of personal thoughts found throughout her work, which she creates using a range of materials to provoke and extract emotions.
