Stitched Table
Designed by Uhuru Design - Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. - Stitched Table is built around a one-of-a kind, flitch-cut hardwood slab. Split nearly in two by a dramatic and naturally occurring check, the slab is held together and reinforced by four X-shaped, stitches.
The seafoam stitches - made from recycled plastic - and matching frame create a stark contrast with the chocolate tones of the walnut, highlighting both the natural beauty of the wood and the functionality of the manmade elements.
The large wood slabs are locally milled and dried and come from sustainably harvested trees. Like diamonds, no two slabs are the same. Grain, color and natural characteristics are different with every slab, making each piece unique.
Uhuru Design has a regularly changing inventory of sizes and species.
