Blue Trees
The Australian artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos creates installations on social and environmental themes including his controversial public artwork, the Blue Trees, about global deforestation.

Developed for 4Culture, the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, the City of Seattle's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, and Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Blue Trees is a socially-driven art action.

The project temporarily and dramatically transform trees in Seattle's Westlake Park and along the Burke-Gillman Trail in Kenmore. Harmless eco-friendly dye - water-based - is used to coat the trees that have brilliantly covered leaves that contrast against the blue dye giving a sense of something that would be found in another fantasy world.

Blue Trees is hoped to bring insight into the millions of acres of trees cut down every year.
