I'm Not There
30 years old, Pol Úbeda Hervàs is a cool artist living and working in Barcelona, Spain.
At first glance his last work, called I'm not There, may seem normal in the world. After a few seconds you will notice that there is an invisible man at play.
I'm Not There is a series of images that displays a man looking at his shadow. The only thing is that the man has been removed from the pictures and all that is left is a pair of sneakers and a reflective dark shape.
Pol was inspired to create this series because he said:
How can we accept that we are changing?
How can we accept we hardly recognize ourselves in certain situations?
I am changing at this very moment of my life. I do not react in the same ways I used to. I am surprised.
Is that me?
These pictures are the way I see myself now.
My shadow is there but I erase myself because I don't know who I am any longer.
The shoes remain only to make sure there is something more than ... a shadow.
