Manifold Clock
A year ago we presented a concept design of a wall mounted clock, that tells time in 3D. The hour and minute hands are connected with a flexible sheet, creating an ever-changing form that moves in space. This unique time-piece is a combination of simple mechanics and modern design.
In this way Studio Ve - Tel Aviv, Israel - founded by Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger, tell about Manifold Clock. The two hands are connected with a flexible sheet of Tyvek, the same material used to make resistant envelopes and protective coveralls.
The circular movement of the hands causes the surface to move in space, thus changing the clock appearance every minute.
Currently, Studio Ve is on the verge of mass-production, but in order raise initial funding, we've launched a kickstarter project: here. Look it.
