Schwimmcaravan
I always thought that only heroes, lovers of holidays without comfort, managed to carry around a caravan, forcing themselves to forced holidays inside it. But now I envy them a little because they can bring along a caravan/boat that opens new perspectives to the holiday on-the-road.
This amphibious trailer has been designed by Sealander – Kiel, Germany – and is the camping accessory guarded in the dreams of each camper. Schwimmcaravan is a super tech jewel, small enough to be towed by a car even without special permission, and is made to float on water thanks to a bowl-shaped bottom and two sealed air chambers, and to move overboard with an electric motor which prevents the formation of waves and abrupt movements.
The interior is completely customizable, beds can become seats, the kitchen can turn into a bathroom and also it has a top sunroof for the nights beneath the stars. Schwimmcaravan will be available from the next year 2012.
Sealander has not yet determined the price because they are still in production and accessories and materials for customization will influence it a lot. However the standard model complete with cooking unit, cleaning unit, heating and outboard motor will cost around 15,000euros.
